NEON DRIFT
Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: July 27, 2026
Your privacy is of the utmost importance. Neon Drift is designed to work without collecting personal information, creating an account, tracking you, or sending gameplay activity to the developer. This policy explains how the Neon Drift iOS app and official website handle information.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Neon Drift mobile game, including the HTML game running inside the iOS WKWebView wrapper, and to the official Neon Drift website. It does not govern Apple's independent handling of information through the App Store, iCloud, or other Apple services.
2. Information the developer does not collect
Neon Drift does not collect, receive, store, or transmit personally identifiable information to the developer. This includes names, email addresses, postal addresses, telephone numbers, precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, Apple Account information, advertising identifiers, IP addresses, payment information, or any other information that directly identifies a person.
The app does not provide user accounts, sign-in, public profiles, chat, social features, forms, or user-generated content. It does not request access to the camera, microphone, contacts, photos, location, or health information.
3. Game data stored on the device
Neon Drift saves non-personal game data so progress is available when the player returns. Depending on the installed version, this can include campaign and level progress, star ratings, high scores, best times, coins, owned and equipped weapons, upgrade levels, gameplay statistics, settings, device-layout preference, and whether the opening or ending cinematic has been completed.
The HTML game stores this information in the app's local web storage using the save key nd_v16. The game may also use temporary session storage to remember that a required visual asset failed to load and to prevent repeated reload attempts. That temporary technical marker is not used to identify or track a user.
The game reads limited device characteristics, such as the browser-reported platform, user-agent category, and number of touch points, only on the device to select the correct iPhone, iPad, or Mac layout. These values are not transmitted to or retained by the developer.
4. Native backup, Keychain, and iCloud sync
Depending on the installed version, the iOS wrapper may keep an additional copy of the same game-save JSON in UserDefaults and the iOS Keychain for reliable local restoration. These copies are used only to preserve game progress. Keychain data may survive app deletion and reinstallation in some circumstances, but persistence is controlled by iOS and is not guaranteed.
If iCloud save sync is available and the user is signed into iCloud with Key-Value Storage enabled, Neon Drift may place the save in the user's private iCloud Key-Value Store. The synced record contains the game-save JSON, an update timestamp, and a randomly generated app-specific device identifier used only to decide which save is newest. It does not contain the user's name, email address, Apple Account, advertising identifier, or location.
iCloud sync is provided and controlled by Apple. The developer does not operate a game-data server and cannot view or retrieve a player's local, Keychain, or private iCloud save. Apple may process information necessary to provide iCloud under the Apple Privacy Policy.
5. No analytics, advertising, or tracking
Neon Drift does not contain third-party analytics SDKs, crash reporting SDKs, advertising networks, behavioral tracking tools, social-media trackers, or cross-app tracking technologies. It does not access the advertising identifier and does not track activity across apps or websites owned by other companies.
The developer does not sell personal information, share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, serve targeted advertising, or use personal information for automated profiling. Because no such activity occurs, there is no need for a “Do Not Sell or Share” control inside the app.
6. Official website
The Neon Drift website does not include accounts, contact forms, advertising cookies, analytics scripts, fingerprinting code, or tracking pixels. The site code does not send personal information to the developer.
Like any website, the hosting and network providers used to deliver the site may automatically process limited technical request information, which can include an IP address, browser headers, security signals, and request timing. This processing is performed by the infrastructure provider to deliver, secure, and maintain the website; it is not used by the Neon Drift developer for advertising or user tracking.
7. Children's privacy
Neon Drift is designed with a high level of privacy for all users, including children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or from children of any other age. Because Neon Drift does not collect personal information, it does not ask a child to provide a name, email address, location, photo, voice recording, identifier, or any other personal detail.
These practices are intended to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and Rule (COPPA) and, where applicable, child-privacy requirements and age-appropriate design principles in other jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom Children's Code and protections under the EU and UK data-protection frameworks. If the developer ever learns that personal information from a child was received, it will be deleted promptly and the affected feature will be investigated.
8. Regional privacy rights
This policy is intended to provide notice consistent with applicable privacy laws, including COPPA, the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, and other applicable U.S. state and international privacy laws.
Depending on location and legal applicability, individuals may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of its sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. Neon Drift does not maintain personal information about its users, so the developer ordinarily has no personal-data record to access, correct, delete, or provide. No user will be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right.
Neon Drift does not disclose personal information to third parties for direct marketing under California's “Shine the Light” law and does not sell covered information under Nevada or other applicable state privacy laws. If a law grants stronger rights than those described here, the stronger applicable requirement will control.
9. Data retention and user control
The developer has no retention period for personal information because the developer does not collect it. Local game data remains on the device until it is reset, cleared, overwritten, or removed by the user or operating system. A Keychain copy may remain after the app is deleted, subject to iOS behavior. An iCloud copy may remain in the user's private iCloud storage until it is overwritten or removed through controls made available by Apple or the app.
Users control whether they are signed into iCloud and can manage Apple services through their device and Apple Account settings. Removing the app does not necessarily delete every Keychain or iCloud copy immediately.
10. Security
Neon Drift minimizes privacy risk by keeping gameplay data on the device or within Apple-provided storage associated with the user's account. The app validates saved data before restoring it and uses iOS storage protections where available. No method of storage is guaranteed to be completely secure, but the developer does not maintain a remote database containing player saves or personal information.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if Neon Drift's features, storage methods, legal obligations, or service providers change. The revised policy will be posted at this same URL with a new effective date. If a future version begins collecting personal information, this policy and any required consent process will be updated before that collection begins.
12. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, email neondriftsupport@gmail.com. For more support information, visit the Contact Us page. Because the developer does not receive player saves or personal information, include only the details necessary to explain the request and do not send sensitive personal information.
