Common questions
How do I log care from a widget?
Add a Terrarium widget from the Home Screen or Lock Screen edit menu. Tap the check next to a task to log it. Tap it again to undo.
How does weather change my schedule?
Turn on Local weather in Terrarium’s Settings. The app checks the forecast when you open it, at most about every three hours, and adjusts watering for humidity and rain. Outdoor plants also get rain warnings.
Local weather isn’t working.
Make sure Local weather is on in Terrarium’s Settings, and that Location is set to “While Using the App” for Terrarium in the iOS Settings app. Weather updates when you open the app, not in the background.
Reminders aren’t arriving.
Check that notifications are allowed for Terrarium in the iOS Settings app, and that your quiet hours in Terrarium’s Settings aren’t covering the time you expect them. Focus modes can also hold notifications.
How do I move my garden to a new iPhone?
Go to Settings → Advanced and tap Export Garden, then save the file somewhere you can reach from the new device. On the new device, use Import Garden Backup. Exports include plants, notes, schedules and care history, but not photos. An iCloud or computer backup of your whole device also carries Terrarium’s data across.
How do I delete a plant?
In Garden, press and hold the plant and choose Delete. This removes its photos, schedules and care history.
Can I use Siri?
Yes. Try “I watered [plant name] in Terrarium” or “What needs water in Terrarium”. You can also add these actions in the Shortcuts app.
Does Terrarium collect my data?
No. There’s no account and no tracking, and your garden stays on your device. The privacy policy covers everything in detail.
